Jay Chou (周杰伦 Zhōu Jiélún) is one of the most famous male singers in China.  Originally from Taiwan, his music is popular throughout Asia, as well as around the world.  This sweet song, 明明就 (Míng Míng Jiù), is set in a beautiful castle and describes his unrequited love. *Note: Lyrics on the video are written in traditional characters.

1. 城堡 (chéng bǎo) : castle

• Example: 我们想在沙滩上建一座城堡。(Wǒmen xiǎng zài shātān shàng jiàn yīzuò chéngbǎo) =  We want to build a sand castle on the beach.

2. 消息(xiāo xi) : news / information

• Example: 我很久没听到关于他的消息了。(Wǒ hěnjiǔ méi tīng dào guānyú tā de xiāoxile) =  I haven’t heard any news about him for a long time.

3. 心事(xīn shì) : a load on one’s mind / worry

• Example: 她上去似乎有很多心事。  (Tā shàngqù sìhū yǒu hěnduō xīnshì) = It seems like she has a lot of worries.

4. 温柔 (wēn róu) : gentle and soft / tender

• Example: 这位母亲对她的孩子很温柔。 (Zhè wèi mǔqīn duì tā de háizi hěn wēnróu ) = This mother is tender towards her child.
